The Minot State University (MSU) men’s hockey team remains a force in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I polls, holding on to the No. 2 spot this week. Meanwhile, the MSU women’s team surged to No. 6 after a standout performance at the Women’s Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) Showcase.
Men’s Team: Dominance Continues
The Beavers (11-1-1 overall, 8-1-0 MCH) trail only No. 1 Jamestown (13-1-0) in the rankings. However, that gap may narrow after Tuesday night’s emphatic 6-1 win over the previously unbeaten Jimmies at Maysa Arena. This victory extends MSU’s winning streak to eight games, including significant triumphs over top-ranked opponents.
Ohio, the last team to defeat MSU with a 2-1 overtime thriller last month, climbed to No. 3 in this week’s poll. Adrian advanced to No. 4, while UNLV slipped to No. 5. MSU’s state rival, the University of Mary, also made strides, reaching No. 13.
Looking ahead, MSU will face No. 19 Midland on the road this weekend in a two-game series. The Beavers are poised to maintain their momentum and reinforce their top-tier status.
