Punjab to Close Markets, Restaurants at 8PM from Today
In view of increasing smog, the Punjab government has issued a notification to close the markets in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan divisions at 8 pm.
According to the notification, commercial markets and outdoor activities will remain closed from November 11. According to the notification, all kinds of sports, exhibitions and events will be banned, while dining in restaurants will also be banned, religious gatherings will be exempted.
Apart from this, medical stores, petrol pumps and grocery stores will be exempted. The orders will be in force from November 11 to November 17.
It should be noted that the smog situation in Punjab is very bad, while Lahore is still on the first place among the most polluted cities in the world. Early in the morning, the air quality index reached 582. On the other hand, fog reigns in various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Peshawar Motorway is closed for traffic.
